This will hopefully be a place to share information on ALL the Nimiq birds out there in orbit, supplying TV signals to Canada.

Current Configuration is;

Nimiq 1 @ 91 Degrees West
Nimiq 2 @ 82 Degrees West
Nimiq 3 @ 91 Degrees West
Nimiq 4ir @ 82 Degrees West

Next big changes;

Nimiq 4 will launch this year to replace Nimiq 4ir, which is an old DirecTv bird leased to ExpressVu until the launch of Nimiq 4.


Nimiq 5 is due for launch in 2009 and will go into orbit at 72.7 Degrees West. This will be interesting, as right now, there are no Customers who have dish's pointing at this slot, so the big question is, will there be a major re-point of dish's, or will a new, 3 satellite dish be introduced.
